British Butterflies
Introducing some of Britain's most widespread butterflies and a selection of day-flying moths, with notes on what they, and especially their caterpillars, eat.
The butterflies are arranged in family groups. Simply select the group you are interested in from the BUTTERFLIES menu to find out more about them, and what foodplants their caterpillars need.
Then go to the FOODPLANTS menu to discover what other types of butterfly will also benefit from the availability of these plants.
See if the plants are already available in your garden or larger greenspace and if not, introduce them by sowing the seed or planting plug plants.
